Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich Town Preview - March 15, 2025
Preview
With 10 games left in the season, a winnable game greets Forest this weekend as they take on relegation-battlers Ipswich Town. Forest will be looking to build on their massive win against Mancester City last weekend and consolidate their hold on a Champions League spot (!).
Ipswich Town are led by Kieran McKenna who, following back-to-back promotions with Ipswich, was reportedly in the mix for several top-flight managerial roles this past summer. That heightened reputation hasn't translated to success in the Premier League, however, and barring a miraculous turnaround, Ipswich appear destiend to go straight back down to The Championship along with fellow promoted sides Leicester City and Southampton.
A key factor will be how Forest lift themselves for this match against a struggling side following their euphoric victory again Man City last weekend. This feels like a classic banana skin game. Hopefully Forest will learn from their recent FA Cup tie with Ipswich and come out on top over a side they clearly have more talent over.
Barring any late injury news, you've got to imagine Nuno will stick with the same lineup as against City - with the front four of Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Elanga, and Wood looking to make the most of their chances against the league 3rd-worst defence.

Team News and Injuries
Forest
Forest remain remarkably healthy as we enter the final stretch of the season with only second-choice keeper Carlos Miguel likely to be unavailable as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
Ipswich
Ipswich, on the other hand, have been struggling on the injury front for the majority of the season. Likely to be missing from this match are: Arijanet Muric (shoulder), Wes Burns (knee), Sammie Szmodics (ankle), Axel Tuanzebe (thigh), and Conor Chaplin (knee).
Possible Starting Lineups
Forest
Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Anderson, Dominguez; Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Elanga; Wood.
Ipswich
Palmer; Johnson, O'Shea, Greaves, Davis; Cajuste, Phillips, Philogene, Hutchinson, Clarke; Delap.
Predictions
I think Forest will take a while to get going, possibly going behind in the first half before their quality shines through in the second half. My prediction: a nervy first half, followed by a comfortable second half and a 3-1 win.
